493 House, Lahontan, California

This exciting new project in the Lake Tahoe area has virtually every exposed piece of wood inside and out, supplied by Yankin’s Reclaimed Materials. The homesite is two lots overlooking the Lahontan golf course with views up to Squaw Valley and Northstar-at-Tahoe. The three salvaged redwood timber walls are stunning showcase examples of construction art; eleven 20+’ timbers stacked one on top of the other, creating a solid timber wall 14-18” thick. The exposed ridge beams in the structure of the Great Room is a 39’ long 22’x22’ clear heart vertical grain old growth salvaged redwood timber with 18”x18” and 20”x20” framing and 12”x12” rafters. The roof sheathing is solid 2”x8” reclaimed redwood from the Scotia lumber mill. This home includes over 2000 square feet of custom-made steel frame windows from YRM and is enclosed with 1”x12” resawn ship-lap reclaimed redwood siding. The custom made interior doors are made from reclaimed redwood 2”x8” taken from the Scotia mill.  Yankin’s Reclaimed Materials
